+Some <del>idiot</del> brilliant mind decided to change the default behavior of startx or ssh-agent to **silently fail** to log in when $HOME/.ssh is a symlink to a place which does not exist (yet).
+Solution: disable "use-ssh-agent" in /etc/X11/Xsession.options
